Michael R. Tuberdyck

Michael Tuberdyck passed away peacefully at home, on September 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 19, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Sr. and Alfreda (nee Durmaj) and by his brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (nee Geyer) Tuberdyck, his sister Rosanne Bahl (Dave Myslinski) and his brother Raymond Jr. (Linda) and by many nieces and nephews. Michael graduated from ECC and RIT. He learned sports photography at ECC. Michael was the proud owner of Zowie Photo and New Visions Photography. He was President of the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Professional Photographers Association. He personally photographed over 900 weddings. His studios covered thousands of weddings, countless Bar and Bat mitzvahs, and family portraits. He taught photographic skills constantly to his employees. He photographed the Buffalo Jills for their calendars twice. He photographed many local rock concert (Cheap Trick, the Who, Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, David Bowie and more) and provided promotional photos for many local bands. He displayed and sold concert photos at the Allentown Art Festival for many years, winning prizes. He provided photographic services for WNY BloodCare (previously the Hemophilia Center of WNY) for all events. He was born with severe hemophilia, and was mostly cured after his liver transplant in 2018. He enjoyed traveling to St. John in the US Virgin Island in order to photograph fish, sea turtles, octopuses and squid. A season ticket holder for the Buffalo Bills since 1968, he attended many home and away games, and attended the 1992 Superbowl in Minneapolis, where the snow was four feet deep. His favorite Chinese food was Sizzling Shrimp and Chicken War Bar from Happy Jack's Restaurant in Fort Erie, Ontario. The dish makes noise coming out of the kitchen. He enjoyed riding the Comet at Crystal Beach Park in Ontario when he was young. He enjoyed fishing in Ontario on Big Rideau Lake, and he designed and installed the pirate-themed wrap on his boat, "The Scurvy Dog." He played golf and traveled extensively. He enjoyed the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios, Orlando. He threw a legendary Halloween party called Zoloween for over a decade. People who met at that party got married. He loved his wife with his whole heart. He was kind to all and he became friends with everyone. Once a friend, always a friend. No prior visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 18th at 11AM in the Alden Presbyterian Church,13298 Broadway, Alden, NY 14004.
