Elaine M. Gurbacki Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gurbacki, Elaine M (nee Rothberger) of Sloan, NY, at the age of 83 passed away January 30, 2022 in car accident with her daughter, the late Krista Casebolt. Elaine lost the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Norbert J. Gurbacki in 2000. Elaine is survived by her beloved children Kim (Craig) Cygan and Kelly (Norbert) Madera; cherished Grandchildren of Nicole (Alex) Gilman, Nicholas & Mykel Madera, Auguste (Steven) Janovic , Natasia (Joseph) Forand and Garrett Cygan. Six dearly loved Great- Grandchildren, Sid Madera, Madelyn & Benjamin Gilman, Sebastian Forand and Aiden & Summer Jankovic. Devoted sister of Judy (late David) Curtis and Brother Lester (Barbara) Rothberger; also survived by many Family, Friends, Neighbors and all the family animals whom she held close to her heart, and her “beloved Hobbs”. Elaine worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years. Even after she retired she continued to help both people and animals in need. Elaine touched so many lives Human and Animal alike. She contributed to the SPCA and adopted and rescued many animals in need of a loving home over the years. She was a devout Catholic, and took pride in volunteering at St Andrews Church as a Eucharistic Minister, serving at coffee hour and cleaning the church. Elaine was a pianist and sang with her sister Judy in her younger years. She was also a member of the Cheektowaga choir with her Husband Norbert before he passed away. No prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Saturday March 26th at 10AM in St. Andrews Church, Sloan. Flowers gratefully declined.
