Stanley J. Mazur Jr.

Age 92, of Cheektowaga died quietly with family near his side, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the home of his niece Christine Taylor. Stan was predeceased by his loving wife and best friend Anna (nee Salinardo). Stan and Ann weren’t blessed with children of their own but they loved, cherished and often took care of and helped raise their nieces & nephews. Stan was the son of a Polish immigrant Stanley J. Mazur, Sr and Veronica (nee Brzezinska), brother to the late Florence, Chester, Raymond, Walter, and Virginia Kandrac, He is survived by his sister Rita Wagoner. Loving Uncle to the late Dennis Mazur, Christine (Timothy) Taylor, Susan (Richard) McClure, Chester (Karen) Mazur, Raymond (late Helen) Mazur, late Gary Mazur, late John (Patricia) Mazur, Joseph (Andrea) Mazur, Debora (Paul) Fels, Rita Glover, Teresa (James) Wernet, Michael Kandrac and many great and great - great nieces and nephews. Stan served in the US Army during the Koren War and was very proud of his service. He recently said, “I would go back today if they asked me”. After the service, Stan returned to work at Consolidated Rail Corporation where he worked from 1947 -1982. When he retired, he co-founded his own business, Twin City Automatic Transmission, Inc. in Lancaster, NY.Besides spending time with his family, he loved fishing and gardening. He already bought his fishing license for this year and couldn’t wait to go. He had his vegetable garden all planned out and bought the seed packets to start growing them for his spring planting. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 11th from 3-7PM at the DANIEL R. SMOLAREK FUNERAL HOME, 2510 Union Rd., Cheektowaga (2 blocks south of William St) where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in Resurrection R.C Church, 130 Como Park Blvd (corner of Union Rd).
