    Edward Kargul

    June 16, 1920 - February 22, 2021

The Mass of Christian Burial, on Saturday, February 27th at 9:30 AM, will be live streamed at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/35322054. Memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. at 225 Como Park Blvd, Cheektowaga, NY 14227. Edward Kargul passed away peacefully in his West Seneca residence on February 22 nd 2021 at 100 years young. He was an exceptional man who devoted himself to a life of service to his family, his country, the community, and his faith. He was an adoring husband of the late Dorothy Kargul, cherished father to Bonnie Slimko (Dennis Fridmann), loving grandfather to Jennifer (Richard) Fosdick and Greg (Sasha) Slimko and beloved great grandfather to Julia and Ian (Fosdick), and Addison and Hanna (Slimko). Ed was an honored veteran of World War II and a lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion. He retired from Scott Aviation in Lancaster where he worked as a machinist for most of his career. He also had a many side jobs over the years. He was a personal assistant to his dear wife Dorothy who kept him very busy. He was also her dance partner and pinochle buddy. He worked as chauffeur for Bonnie and her high school friends who frequently asked for a ride home from school. He was a landscaper and would meticulously cut not only his lawn, but Bonnie’s and his sister in law Gerry’s as well. He was a handyman who would help anyone in need of household repairs, and if anyone needed a tool he had it! He was a driving instructor who took on the brave job of teaching his grandchildren how to drive. He was a cheerleader who cheered on his great grandchildren at their sporting events whenever he could attend. Most importantly, he was a humanitarian, always willing to help others in any way he could. There is no question Ed will be an angel in Heaven, maybe even an inspiration to the other angles in Heaven. We are truly blessed to have had this kind, gentle, generous soul in our lives. All the wonderful memories he has created will live in our hearts forever.
