Barbara A. Komendat

KOMENDAT - Barbara A. (nee Pietrus) January 23, 2022, of Elma, NY. Beloved wife of 39 years to Lawrence G. Komendat; loving mother of Sarah (Matthew) Paryz, Andrew (Stacey), late Amanda Rose, and the late Mary Komendat; cherished grandmother of Jessica; devoted sister of Joan (Gary) Para and the late Thomas and Eugene Pietrus; dearest aunt of Brian, Emily, and Steven. Barb was a longtime library aide at William Street School in Lancaster, a former employee of Scott Aviation, former LVAC volunteer, and was a three-time lymphoma cancer survivor. Barb was an avid camper, a former Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed the outdoors - especially campfires with family. She was in various church folk groups and choirs for over 40 years. Barb was also a longtime member of Annunciation Church, active in the Ladies’ Sodality and Queen of the annual chowder sale. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Friday, from 4-8 PM, at the DANIEL R. SMOLAREK FUNERAL HOME, 2510 Union Rd., Cheektowaga (2 blocks south of William St). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, at 10 AM, in Annunciation R.C. Church, Elma. Please assemble at Church. Flowers gratefully declined.
